Abstract
The aim of this study was to describe the dental alterations in two young individuals with hypophosphataemic vitamin D resistant rickets, by means of clinical, radiographic and histologic findings. The main characteristic of the disease is defective bone mineralization. Clinically the patients present short stature and bone deformities and also develops important dental defects, such as retarded tooth eruption, large interglobular spaces in the circumpulpal dentin, microfissures involving enamel and dentin, relatively wide pulp chamber and root canals. The most remarkable characteristic is the presence of periapical abscesses.
