Abstract
Pyogenic granuloma (PG) remains an etiopathological enigma, with trauma, inflammatory and infectious agents being the commonest suspected causative factors. It is a relatively common benign mucocutaneous lesion occurring intra orally or extra orally. PG is more common in females in the second decade of life over males. PG of the oral cavity is known to involve the gingiva commonly (75% of all cases). Rarely may it present extra gingivally. Here, we report a case of pyogenic granuloma on the tongue of a 69-year-old man which is an unusual site for the same.
