Abstract
The results obtained showed that, compared with the control group, the subjects with hypertonia of the perioral muscles had remarkable values regarding changes in dental axes on skeletal bases according to the position of the sublabial fold. We can conclude from this study that it is necessary to take these muscles into account when designing an orthodontic treatment plan in order to achieve more stable long term results.
