Abstract
Orthodontics is in fact an occlusal discipline. While the current literature minimizes the connection between occlusion and dysfunction, the orthodontist needs, all the same, to master this field in order to respond to his/her patient's needs. A thorough analysis of the signs and symptoms, based essentially on clinical experience, will allow the practitioner to adopt an approach which will be beneficial to patients.
