Abstract
This study, based on a review of the literature and an analysis of 39 adult patients treated by extraction of a lower incisor, seeks to highlight the parameters which make this type of compromise treatment acceptable. It emerged that the best results are obtained in normodivergent, skeletal Class I cases with 4 to 5mm of antero-inferior crowding, a high Bolton index (this option is ideal if the index is higher than 0.83). The choice of the incisor to be extracted is made according to the condition of the periodontium, the endodontic situation and the axis and shape of the teeth.
