Abstract
Currently, it seems to be necessary to study the position of the mandible determined by centric occlusion (CO) in addition to conventional intra- and interarch examinations. Wedging, centering and guidance are taken into account. Additional examinations are prescribed with discretion in order to support and, ocasionally, quantify the clinical observations. In the framework of the TMPDS (tempero-mandibular pain dysfunction syndrome) during diagnostic evaluation, a lack of coherence between the different types of information gathered jeopardizes the choice of an appropriate treatment.
