Abstract
Implant prosthesis rehabilitation is indicated for the functional and esthetic rehabilitation of soft and hard tissue deficits. In some patients, these goals cannot be achieved because the treatment is excessively long and poorly tolerated. In such cases, prostheses can be used to rehabilitate oral and perioral tissue deficits, with functional and esthetic restoration that is compatible with the biology and mechanics of the structure being treated. Several other prosthetic restorations have been realized, and the results of follow-ups ranging from 1 to 6 years are positive. On the basis of the results obtained in our practice and from reviews of articles in literature, we feel that zirconia is often a valid alternative to metal ceramic prostheses.
