Abstract

The anatomy of the head and neck is an important set of knowledge for the oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Current imaging techniques and the exquisite detail that they provide are frequently the first glimpse at disease and important to surgical planning. CT and MRI are the primary modes of neck imaging and are complimentary in the information that they provide. This article reviews the current methods of anatomic imaging and the current methods of analysis of the region by radiologists.
