Abstract
Among the many kinds of removable functional appliances now in use, a bite-jumping-appliance (BJA) is a special functional appliance which affects the upper and lower jaws as well as the teeth. Because the laboratory work and chairside adjustment involved in using a BJA can be quite complicated, we have devised a simpler BJA which uses a thermoplastic transparent resin. We have found this appliance to be very useful, simple to apply, and easy to handle at chairside.
