Abstract
Lateral petrosectomy offers possibility of radical treatment in same patients with chronic otorrhea. The total removal of cholesteatoma prevents intracranial and intratemporal complications in case of chronic otitis media. Patients after lateral petrosectomy require systematic ENT and radiological (CT, NMR) examination.
