Abstract
Schwannoma is a benign neoplasm derived from Shwann cells of the peripheral nerves. The tumor usually occurs in conjunction with cranial nerves in head and neck region. It is characterized by long term growth and symptoms that highly depend on its location. The diagnosis is made on the basis of histological and immunocytochemical examination. Surgical resection of the tumor is the treatment of choice. Authors present a case of schwannoma with non-specific location in the floor of the mouth and perennial unsymptomatic growth.
