Abstract
The face and neck are morphologically complex of anatomical structure. It determines the formation of a special susceptibility to various malformations. The aim of this study was to present anomalies of the first branchial cleft in unusual clinical course. Described three patients hospitalized in the Department of Otolaryngology in Poznan in the period from 2011 to 2012. In two patients the neck changes suggested the presence of a tumor and needed surgery twice. In one patient surgery was associated with a high risk of damage to the facial nerve. Discussed the pathogenesis, diagnosis and contemporary approach to the treatment of anomalies the first branchial cleft.
