Abstract
Retraction pockets are morphological signs of adhesive otitis media. This clinical unity is not commonly classified and recognized. When considering different management modalities, natural tendency for regression should impact conservative treatment and precise follow-up. In advanced stages like IIIa and IIIb in modified Charachon classification preventive tympanoplasty is a treatment of choice.
