Abstract
Rhinosinusitis is one of the most common conditions seen by primary health physicians. Inflammation of the nose and paranasal sinuses mucous membrane impairs its function. Inflammation of mucosa impairs cilia movement and mucociliary clearance in sinuses and nasal cavity. This leads to the deposition of thick secretions in the area of ostio-meatal complex and causes its obstruction, which increases inflammation within the sinuses. Topical nasal saline has become a routine part of many management paradigms in treating chronic sino-nasal symptoms.
