ResumenIntroducciónEl Tejido Gingival Supracrestal (TGS), es aquel tejido que se encuentra desde la cresta alveolar hasta el margen gingival libre y tiene una dimensión media de 3 mm según mediciones histológicas.ObjetivoMedir y comparar las dimensiones de los TGS de piezas dentarias anterosuperiores en pacientes adultos jóvenes sanos.Material y Método80 individuos clínicamente sanos (35 hombres y 45 mujeres) cuyas edades fluctuaron entre 20 y 35 años que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión, fueron examinados por un examinador calibrado. Se midieron los TGS mediante sondaje transgingival con sonda periodontal tipo Carolina del Norte a nivel del cénit en la cara vestibular de los dientes 13, 12, 11, 21, 22 y 23, registrándose las medidas y realizándose análisis estadístico (Prueba de Wilcoxon y U-Mann Whitney).ResultadosLos resultados mostraron que la medida de los TGS de los dientes anterosuperiores están en el rango entre 1 y 5 mm. El promedio ge-neral fue de 2,8 ± 0,8 mm. No hay diferencias estadísticamente significativas al comparar dientes contralaterales (p>0,05).ConclusionesEl promedio del TGS de los dientes anterosuperiores se aproxima a las medidas encontradas en las publicaciones científicas asociadas con el presente estudio. Al comparar el TGS de dientes contralaterales, no se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas.
IntroductionThe supracrestal gingival tissue (SGT) is the tissue from above the alveolar crest to the gingival margin and averages 3 mm according to histological measurements.Aimmeasure and compare contralaterally the dimensions of SGT in anterior upper teeth in young adults with healthy human periodontium.Material and Method80 individuals with clinically healthy periodontium (35 men and 45 women) aged between 20 and 35 years that fulfilled the inclusion criteria, were examined by a calibrated examiner. The SGT were measured by transgingival probing using a North Carolina periodontal probe to the level of the zenit in the buccal surface of the teeth 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, 23, the measures were registered and statistics analysis was realized. (Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U Test).ResultsResults showed that SGT measurements ranged from 1,0 to 5,0 mm. The general mean in was 2,8 ± 0,8 mm. Contralateral measurements showed no statistical difference (p>0,05).ConclusionsThe mean of SGT in anterior upper teeth is close to the measures founded in the scientific publications associated with the present study. When comparing the STG of contralateral teeth, no statistically significant differences were found.
