Abstract
Selectin interactions drive allergic inflammation in the lung and skin. Silica-induced pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis, however, was more pronounced in the absence of selectin interactions, suggesting that selectin-mediated leukocyte migration may depend on the types of initiating inflammatory stimuli.
