Abstract
Nail degloving refers to partial or total avulsion of the nail and surrounding tissue (perionychium). Typically it appears as a thimble-shaped nail shedding or a partial or total loss of the nail organ with soft tissue. Nail degloving represents the end result of a variety of insults to the nail apparatus, including trauma, dermatologic diseases, and drug reactions.
