Abstract
Hyaluronan, like other sulfated glycosaminoglycans, retains LDL by forming a complex. Via macrophage scavenger receptors, macrophages incorporate not only LDL-hyaluronan complexes, but also oxidized LDL, which has been oxidized during the retention time.
