Abstract
Endometriosis is a chronic recurring disease in women of reproductive age. Current treatment modalities used to manage the disease primarily aim to induce a hypoestrogenic state which leads to a reduction in symptoms and endometriotic implants. With new developments in the understanding of pathophysiology of endometriosis, it is being compared to autoimmune disorder. Newer therapies using immunomodulators and other novel compounds are discussed. An ideal drug would be one that treats endometriosis without hampering fertility.
