Abstract

Echocardiography in the critically ill is extensively used in this hospital and more than 10,000 such cases have been done over the last 8 years. The information relates to structural abnormality, LV and RV functions and various haemodynamic information like CVP, RV and PA systolic pressure, LA pressure, cardic output and SVR. These help in diagnosis and management of various problems in the critically ill and is used routinely in the ICUs of this hospital.
