Abstract
Systemic Hypertension is the commonest and modifiable factor for reducing Cardio and Cerebro vascular mortality and morbidity. Large epidemiological studies with long term follow up have improved our understanding of long term consequences of untreated hypertension. We have evidence based guidelines for diagnosis, investigations, Pharmacologic and Non Pharmacologic management of Hypertension. Public Education, better tolerated and more effective drugs can further improve the outcome in Hypertensive Individuals.
