Abstract
The single most frequent application of Nuclear Cardiology is in the assessment of myocardial perfusion. The diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) remains a common application of myocardial perfusion scintigraphy, but it is increasingly being used for diagnosis of acute MI, risk stratification after infarction, and assessment of viable myocardium versus scar in patients with chronic coronary disease.
