Abstract
Multi Detector CT is the latest technological advancement in CT scanning and transformed from Slice based technique to volume based technique. This volume based technology enables fast scanning with thin collimation (as thin as 0.5 mm) to cover the entire abdomen in single breath hold and reconstruct images at different planes to look at them from different angles.The advanced 3 D reconstruction and virtual colonoscopy techniques has greatly enhanced the role of 64 - MDCT for evaluation of GIT pathology.
