Abstract
Venous thromboembolism is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in women during peripartum period and when they undergo major gynaecological surgeries. The objective of this article is to identify the risk factors for VTE and to provide guidelines for risk assessment and thromboprophylactic measures for VTE in women during pregnancy and major gynaecological surgeries.
