Abstract
The unusual circumstances surrounding the prehospital response to a highly publicized sniper attack upon a pediatric patient are detailed. Examination of this case from a systems perspective within a highly developed statewide regionalized trauma care network highlights essential system features. The unique aspects of the response are also critically examined and discussed.
