Abstract

Pelvic fractures are common injuries seen by the orthopedic surgeon especially in our region which has the highest incidence of motor vehicle accidents. The management of these injuries involve taking care of both the life-threatening aspect and also the more commonly neglected long-term morbidity part of the injury. Many new methods of managing such injuries have emerged in the recent times and proper knowledge of the current protocols of managing such injuries is essential. Care should be taken not only to prevent the mortality associated with this injury but also to manage the fracture in a way to prevent the morbidities which may ensue.
