Abstract
ECLS should be considered early during the management of cardiotoxic drug overdoses. Severe cardiac toxicity is rare but life threatening. Clinical criteria may be used to consider ECLS early during the course of cardiotoxic drug overdoses. The early indication of ECLS in drug-induced cardiogenic shock significantly improved the survival rate. Any delay in ECLS during the course of a severe cardiotoxic drug, as assessed by the type of drug, the dose, and the hemodynamic effects, resulted in the onset of cardiac arrest worsening the outcome.
