Abstract
Cardiogenic shock is characterized by inadequate tissue perfusion due to cardiac dysfunction, and it is commonly caused by acute myocardial infarction. Mortality from cardiogenic shock still remains high. Despite the technical advances in cardiology, cardiogenic shock as a complication of acute myocardial infarction (CSMI) remains a medical research issue in 2014. In this review, will be detailed the epidemiology, the physiopathology and the different modalities of treatments available.
