Abstract
Baclofen is an antispastic drug often used in neurological diseases-related muscle spasticity. Its recent use in alcohol withdrawal syndrome widens its frequency of use and consequently could increase the number of voluntary ingestion overdoses. Baclofen overdose cause rapidly comatose state requiring mechanical ventilation, cardiovascular troubles but also comitial signs with abnormal electroencephalograph signs. We report a 28-year-old woman admitted after a massive baclofen ingestion. We obtain continuous EEG and follow baclofen serum levels. The EEG first reveals a burst-suppression pattern before more complex patterns appear getting closer to normal patterns. Baclofen serum levels reflect neither clinical findings nor EEG abnormalities.
