Abstract
The doctor-lawyer perspective that we discuss is a maternal refusal to consent to a cesarean delivery for a fetal indication in June 2011. Despite repeated information of the risks during a three-week hospitalization for pre-eclampsia, after being assured of the proper understanding of the seriousness of the situation by the woman and his partner, and after consideration to transfer to another hospital, the reiterated refusal led to a late fetal extraction resulting in term stillbirth.
