Abstract
PGD has gained a place among the choices offered to couples at risk of transmission of a serious and incurable genetic disease. It might be a realistic alternative to prenatal diagnosis for patients carrier of chromosomal rearrangements, single gene defects, X-linked disesases or mitochondrial DNA disorders.
