Admissions aux urgences pour hypoglycémie ou décompensation hyperglycémique chez les patients diabétiques : un passage obligé ?

Consultations in emergency care services for hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia in diabetic patients, are common. The waiting time is sometimes long, and patients are often hospitalized in non-specialized department for the management of diabetes. The aim of our study was to analyze, for one year, the emergency visits of diabetic patients for these two metabolic disorders, and to assess if and how it was possible to consider alternative care, as an outpatient or deferred and programmed hospitalization in a Diabetology unit.
