Abstract
In addition, some preliminary studies suggest that SGLT2 inhibitors might have a beneficial effect on kidney function of diabetic patients, by decreasing glomerular hyperfiltration which is known to be particularly common in the early stages of T1D and associated with a subsequent risk of nephropathy; again, to confirm these findings, it will be essential to conduct large-scale trials with tougher criteria of judgment.
