Abstract
The transition from acute to chronic diseases that took place at the end of the 20th century requires adaptation of medical practices and health systems. While medicine of acute diseases appealed almost exclusively to so-called hard sciences, chronic diseases open on the complexity of the field, so appealing to the human and social sciences essential to a holistic approach. Discussions are raised here on the conditions required to take up the challenge of chronicity through Predictive Medicine, Customized, and Participatory Preventive.
