Abstract
Bariatric surgery in teenagers raises a series of clinical, organizational, and ethical questions. This paper deals with the initial steps of the clinical pathway, from the patient demand to the decision. Various issues are discussed from the adolescent, the family, and the physician viewpoints. The multifocal management is a long term process that should be limited to expert centers.
