Abstract
Overweight and obesity are mainly constructs of multiple origins. Such constructs are partly due to eaters' behaviours and the social trajectories in which they are imbedded. But they are also made up by diverse protagonists in the realm of health (medical doctors, paramedics, social and human sciences professionals), of both agro- and pharmaceutical industries, in the media⦠Such constructs/representations are often dramatized, relying on biased and simplified visions of obesity, which should be approached in a multidisciplinary manner.
