Abstract
The story of insulin therapy, which is more than 90 years old, is very instructive. It has been a long way made of trials and errors, successes and failures, rich in ever-reviewed hypotheses. The modern scheme using multiple insulin injections, with pens or pumps, is the result of this long evolving maturation: at this stage, this therapy seems durably recommendable and nowadays relatively stabilized, waiting for new advances and, why not, the cure of the disease.
