Abstract
Postmortem diagnosis of hypoglycemia is difficult in forensic medicine due to the lack of characteristic morphological findings and to the rapid degradation of biological markers. The authors describe the analytes (glucose and lactate, glycated proteins and oral antidiabetics), their stability data and analytic procedures that should be used in toxicological laboratories to detect if possible a hypoglycemia after death.
