Abstract
Ocular and eyelid infectious diseases are not pathognomonic manifestations of diabetic children in Africa, they are of various types and favorized by poor glycemic control. Severity depends on the duration of diabetes and quality of blood sugar level, difficult to control and to maintain by children. Thus, prevention of these diseases may improve by increasing awareness on benefits of systematization of quarterly HbA1c monitoring of diabetic children by both caregivers and parents. In addition, an adequate personal and environmental hygiene by these young type 1 diabetics could contribute to preserve their vision.
