Abstract
Therapeutic patient education comes in three main types of educational practices, depending on where it takes place: conventional, behavioristic and constructivist, which correspond to three educational models. With a 30-years experience, evaluations and meta-analyses show that every model presents advantages and limits. Based on new concepts on learning, a new systemic model, of allosteric type, currently emerge. It is currently being evaluated, but the first results look promising.
