Abstract
During aging, a change of taste, smell, loss of food adaptation, a lower energy stores management and utilization of nutrients increase the risk of nutritional deficiencies. The average prevalence of malnutrition is 3% in elderly patients living at home. The clinical consequences are many, can be rapidly dramatic in patients older and often full of several pathologies. A varied and balanced diet contributes to successful aging, without unnecessary restrictions. The hyperenergetic hyperprotidic diet is preferred in the elderly frail.
