Abstract
This review aims to describe the -Omics fields of scientific research. -Omics aimed at considering the wholeness of parameters linked to biological processes in a specific field. Researchers face difficulties in dragging the gigantic amount of data available to extract the relevant information regarding a physiological state or a disease, for a diagnosis or a prognosis purpose or even to guide the treatment. Bioinformatics make feasible, although not as perfectly as it may be expected, the huge analyses to conduct. However, they do not represent medical progresses by themselves. If “success stories” remain the exception, nevertheless, the potential of these approaches seems to be considerable.
