Abstract
Glaucoma and diabetes are both common chronic ophthalmologic diseases. Numerous studies have been conducted to look for a relationship between diabetes and glaucoma and particularly to highlight the possibility for diabetes to be a risk factor for glaucoma. However, the results of several studies are uncertain, non conclusive without any systematic link found between these two ophthalmological pathologies. We review the large literature (from the years 70s) regarding this topic. Moreover, we describe the specific case of neovascular glaucoma, directly related to the retinal diabetic complications.
