Abstract
Energy balance is maintained through a permanent crosstalk between the centre, mainly the hypothalamus, and the periphery, particularly the adiposity signals (insulin, leptin) and the satiation ones coming from the digestive tract (gut hormones). In the context of the increasing prevalence of obesity, the better understanding of these systems is necessary to develop new molecules that could fight against obesity.
