Abstract
The indication of enteral nutrition in a patient with hyperglycemia can come about either within the context of diabetes, or at the time of an acute pathological situation complicated by a stress hyperglycemia. In these hyperglycemic situations, which product and which strategy should be adopted in order to best supply a suitable enteral nutrition? Which treatment for hyperglycaemia should be put forward? The appropriate treatment to be followed revolves around these two interdependant axes. It will only be effective if the nutritional intake covers the patients energetic needs, and if the treatment for hyperglycemia is adjusted accordingly, in order to limit both hyper- and hypoglycemia and their associated complications.
