Abstract
Randomized studies failed to prove that insulin pump is more efficient than insulin analogs injections to improve glycemic control. A decrease in the risk of severe hypoglycaemia is suggested from a meta-analysis. Insulin pump can be successful in patients with frequent severe hypoglycemia or with a dawn phenomenon. But the improvement in HbA1c and quality of life is highly dependent on the patient way of life and expectations. The same comments applied to continuous glucose monitoring. The patient's choice for its injection and glycemic control devices must not be judged.
