Abstract
Physical exercise physiology is mainly determined by skeletal muscle functions. Skeletal muscle activity is supported by energy fuel regulation and oxygen availability. Energy fuel is stored in muscle, liver and adipose tissue; the regulation of the energy substrate fluxes is under the influence of hormonal response to physical exercise. Physical exercise training improves the sensitivity to hormones actions on the mobilization and substrates use. One of the interesting effects in the scope to prevent metabolic diseases is the enhanced insulin sensitivity at the muscle level.
