Abstract
Pancreatic fistula still jeopardizes the results of pancreaticoduodenectomy. Its reported frequency varies between 0 and 30% depending on reported series and various used definition of fistula. The work aims to review the last 10 years literature about reported methods used to reduce the incidence of pancreatic fistula and its severity. The reported results about of the absence of pancreatic anastomosis, the pancreatico-jejunal and pancreatico-gastric anastomoses, their various technical modalities, and the role of somatostatin analogs are analysed.
