Abstract
The Dual Control Model is one of the contemporary concepts of mechanisms rooted in the central nervous system that control human sexual behaviours. The article presents the main assumptions of the model, discusses psychometric tools based on the model and most valuable studies on its practical application. Moreover, limitations of the model are identified. Finally, possible practical recommendations for sexual health services are suggested.
