Abstract
Ultrasonography, including 2D, 3D, and 4D and endovaginal, endoanal, and translabial techniques, is relatively easy to perform, cost-effective, and a widely available technique for pelvic floor imaging. In this article, the methodology of the different sonographic modalities and their role in decision making in treating patients with outlet obstruction and pelvic floor disorders of the posterior compartment are presented and critically discussed.
